There is no question that this is a great time to be a buyer.  Interest rates are near historic lows.  It's too soon to tell if this is the signal of an upward trend.  Anyone who hasn't owned a home in the past three years is eligable to receive $8000 from Uncle Sam, and it can be used towards your down payment.  But time is running out, this incentive ends November 30! 

All of these factors combine like the Perfect Storm for buyers.  Are you sitting on the fence, wondering if home prices are going to get even lower?  You should rethink that strategy.  Higher interest rates would more than offset a decrease in purchase price.  Remember, there is NO WAY to know if we are at the bottom of the cycle until AFTER the market has turned, and by then it will be too late.
